Majorelle Garden is an area of botanical graden and landscape garden in Marrakech , Morocco . It set up by the french orientalist JACQUES MAJORELLE over approximatly forty years and it was FEATURED by the french architects PAUL SINOIR in the 1930s .




The ownership was the residence of artist and his amazing wife from 1923 till their divorce in the 1950 . in the 1980s, the property was bought via the designers , Yves Saint-laurent and pierre bergé who worked to restore it . Today , the garden is completely became for the public .
The majorelle garden was featured by the french artist Jacques Majorelle . As a fresh young aspiring painter , majotrelle was sent to morocco to convalesce from a serious medical condition .



After wasting a short time in casablanca , he went to marrakech and fell in love with vibrant colours and street . After his traveling , he decided to settle down permanently in maracakch
During the lifetime , JACQUES MAJORELLE aquired a reputation as a celebrated orientalist painter . The special shade of bold cobalt blue , inspired by the coloured tiles he has seen in marrackech and in berber burn houses , was used extensively in the garden and its buildings are named after him , blue majorelle .






The garden shapes a complex in which buildings are dedictated to various muesums and exposes of interest to visitors . these amazing gardens , which wrap two and half acres , are flexible to the public forever , houses important collection of cacti and sculpture .
Majorelle's former studio workshop has become the place of the islamic Art Museum of Marrackech that features a collection of North of African textiles from Saint-Laurent's personal collection ;furthermore , cerammics and jewelry .
the raiseup of the garden complex is ongoing . Profits from the gardens are used fund fresh projects .
The gardends are an essential tourist drawcard in marrakech , alluring more than 700,000 visitors annually .
